Sharling Brandon Sandino Rodríguez, 27 years old, is a young lawyer from the Escamequita region, in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. He graduated in Law from the National Polytechnic University (UNP) in Rivas and has been a scholarship recipient since 2019 from the A Jean Brugger Foundation of San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua. This foundation has been key in his training and thanks to this support he has managed to make his way in the competitive world of law, standing out for his effort, dedication and vision for the future.

A path of sacrifices and life lessons
Sharling grew up in Escamequita, a rural area where educational opportunities were limited. The distance between his home and his high school in the port of San Juan del Sur was one of the biggest challenges he faced during his education. Every day, he had to leave his house at 5:30 a.m. to get to class, and he didn’t return until 2:00 p.m. These sacrifices taught him the importance of education and were the driving force that drove him forward. His perseverance led him to overcome these difficulties and graduate with a law degree, beginning to practice law in 2021.
A lawyer in constant evolution
Sharling was not satisfied with his bachelor’s degree. From the moment he graduated, he has dedicated himself to continuing to train and perfect his career. He has obtained a postgraduate degree and a master’s degree, and speaks English fluently, which has allowed him to expand his client portfolio, most of them foreign. His international approach has been key to the success of his legal practice. He currently heads Next Wave Legal, a firm with offices in Escamequita, San Juan del Sur and Managua. This expansion has allowed him to serve both the local community and international investors, providing a professional and personalized service.
New projects and vision for the future
In addition to his activity as a lawyer, Sharling is involved in various projects with his mentor and friend, with whom he will soon launch an initiative aimed at attracting investors. His goal is to contribute to the economic development of the region, generating growth and employment opportunities.
As president of a multi-service cooperative, Sharling also seeks to integrate other young people who, like him, have been beneficiaries of the foundation that supported him during his career. His vision is to create a space where these young people can develop professionally and contribute to their communities.

The impact of the foundation on his life
Sharling acknowledges that his time at the foundation not only allowed him to continue his studies, but it also gave him a long-term perspective on life. Participating in the foundation’s social projects taught him to be responsible, both as a lawyer and as a citizen. «The foundation helped me to be more aware, and that awareness helps you in real life,» he says. He also mentions that seeing how the foundation managed donor resources inspired him to be more ethical and professional in his work.
Committed to social change
One of Sharling’s main goals in the future is to involve more young people in his projects, especially those who have been part of the foundation. For him, it is essential to give back to the community what he has received, creating a cycle of opportunities for new generations.
With his experience, vision and commitment, Sharling Brandon Sandino Rodríguez is a clear example of how perseverance and adequate support can transform lives, promoting personal and professional development. Without a doubt, his career will continue to be a source of inspiration for many young Nicaraguans who dream of a better future.
