On a rainy November afternoon, the Las Pampas baseball field in San Juan del Sur was the scene of one of the last clinics of the year for young baseball talents. There, under the direction of coach and former first division player Alejandro Noguera, more than eight young players gathered, overflowing with enthusiasm as they received technical instruction in the sport they love so much.

A Jean Brugger Foundation, committed to the sporting development and well-being of children in the region, supports the children’s baseball leagues in San Juan del Sur. In addition to equipping players with uniforms and balls, it organizes specialized clinics where children learn advanced techniques. In this last session, Alejandro taught infielder skills, such as throws to first base and movements for double plays, in the middle of mud and rain.

Kim Jonas, one of the children who benefited and plays shortstop and pitcher, expressed his gratitude,
emphasizing that these training sessions not only improve their skills, but also reinforce
their confidence and commitment to the sport. These children, between 9 and 12 years old, are part of
teams established in different communities of San Juan del Sur

Alejandro Noguera, who has dedicated years to training these children, deeply thanked
donors, such as the McDonald family and the Christopher and Shatagin Foundation, whose support
since 2005 has been fundamental to maintaining this program. Through their donations, not only
is the purchase of equipment financed, but also an opportunity is given to young talents
who dream of one day representing their community and the country.

The children’s baseball league has four teams, representing different communities:
- Ostional – Ostional
- Tortuga – Tortuga and Escamequita
- The Bravitos de Marseille – Marseille, Las Marías, El Bastón
- The Marlin del Sur – Barrio Nuevo, Las Pampas, Las Delicias and the Central zone

The «Tortuga» team received uniforms thanks to the sponsorship of the Foundation. Each of these
teams represents not only a region, but a collective dream driven by the shared vision
of Jean Brugger and John Macdonald, founders of this initiative that, under the name
«Baseball Camp», has provided quality sports training to the children of San Juan
del Sur. Alejandro Noguera has been a key piece as a coach in these camps,
strengthening not only talent, but also values such as discipline and teamwork in
all these children.
