Through the scholarship program, the Jean Brugger Foundation has provided educational support to promising students, allowing them to achieve their academic and professional dreams. These efforts have not only changed the lives of the scholarship recipients, but have also had a significant impact on the community. Among the many beneficiaries are two young women, Alba Valeska Espinoza and Jossete Stephanie Garbanzo, who have managed to excel professionally and now contribute to the development of local education at the Escuela Adelante in San Juan del Sur.
Alba Valeska Espinoza is one of the Jean Brugger Foundation’s most inspiring success stories. A graduate in Accounting, Alba always had a passion for working with children. Despite the challenges, she found in her young son the strength and motivation to continue her studies. Today, Alba works at the Adelante School, where she combines her training in accounting with her love for education and community work. «Working with children fills me with joy and satisfaction,» says Alba, who is deeply grateful to the foundation for the opportunity it gave her.

For her part, Jossete Stephanie Garbanzo has excelled in the field of educational psychology. Graduated as a psychologist, Jossete has found her calling in teaching classes on emotional topics at the Adelante School. Her work is crucial for the comprehensive development of students, addressing emotional and psychological aspects that are fundamental to their well-being. «We address emotional issues that are not normally discussed in schools, such as the separation of parents,» says Jossete.

Monica Jaenz, director of the Adelante School, highlights the commitment and dedication of Alba and Jossete. «They both started as volunteers at our school and over time we saw the potential they had. The Jean Brugger Foundation is doing an excellent job, helping these young people to create a better future,» says Monica. The integration of these young professionals has strengthened the school’s educational team, bringing new perspectives and approaches to teaching.

The Jean Brugger Foundation continues its mission to empower the youth of San Juan del Sur through education. Hundreds of young people have already graduated and the stories of Alba and Jossete are just two examples of the positive impact the foundation has on the community. As more students receive support, it is hoped that many more will follow in the footsteps of these young women, contributing to the development of their region and serving as role models for future generations.
