ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This is the fourth consecutive year that the “Vocational Guidance” initiative has been carried out, aimed at 30 adolescents and young people in eleventh grade of secondary school from the Stella Maris school, located in the municipality of San Juan del Sur.

This valuable initiative implemented by five students on scholarships in economic sciences, is based on a thematic program designed by the A. Jean Brugger Foundation. This program consists of 20 topics that are developed in two monthly sessions over eight months, from May to December 2024.
The contents addressed are designed to help students identify their skills and interests, understand their personality, explore the labor market and academic opportunities, as well as the processes to access higher education, apply for scholarships and take vocational tests to make informed decisions about their future career. The last two sessions of the program focus on the development of a life project and the creation of a resume.

The main objective of this program is to guide and support eleventh grade high school students in choosing their university career and in planning the route they must follow to enter the higher education system.
