SOCIAL SERVICE
Reinforcement of reading and writing skills “I like to read and write”
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The Reading and Writing Skills Reinforcement Initiative is carried out by two groups of 14 scholarship students from the A. Jean Brugger Foundation in the teaching and medical sciences careers. It is carried out in the communities of El Oro and María Auxiliadora, located in the municipality of San Juan del Sur. This initiative benefits 60 boys and girls from preschool to sixth grade in both communities. The activities in the two communities are carried out for 8 months starting in May 2024.
The A. Jean Brugger Foundation provides training, advice and support to the scholarship students responsible for this social initiative, together with a specialist in the subject, with the aim of guaranteeing better performance and quality in the development of reading and writing skills reinforcement classes.
Through this educational initiative, children receive reinforcement classes based on techniques, methodologies and recreational resources that will facilitate better assimilation of learning. Activities are carried out in a comprehensive manner, involving both children and their parents, to ensure better reading comprehension and writing. In addition, materials are provided for both children and facilitators, which contributes to the effectiveness and quality of the learning process by allowing an organized evaluation of progress.
