SOCIAL SERVICE
Guidance and technical support for families with the breeding and well-being of production animals
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This initiative was created by a group of six students who received scholarships in medical sciences (veterinary medicine) and agronomy.
This social initiative aims to provide guidance and technical support to 90 families from rural communities who are dedicated to raising farm animals. The ultimate goal is to improve the conditions of breeding and well-being of farm animals in these 3 communities (San Antonio, Miravalle and Las Delicias) in the municipality of San Juan del Sur. In the rural area of the municipality of San Juan del Sur, agriculture and livestock are predominant economic activities. However, many of these communities lack access to technical resources and specialized knowledge on breeding and animal care practices.
This initiative includes training sessions for those responsible for raising animals in their homes, as well as short deworming and vitamin treatment sessions for the family animals in greatest need. It is expected that the contribution of this social initiative to low-income families in the beneficiary communities will significantly improve the living conditions of production animals, which in turn will have a positive impact on the health and well-being of people who depend on them for their livelihood and marketing.
